Will my younger child enjoy it?
We haven't received any reports from younger children or toddlers that the Jack O'Lantern Spectacular is scary. However, as the trail is illuminated mostly by the pumpkins, be sure to hold the hand of any young ones who you feel might be spooked.
When does the trail close for the night?
Sunday - Thursday: No one will be allowed to enter the line past 10:00PM
What accommodations are made for those with disabilities?
Those with disabilities will find parking near the Amphitheater Box Office, with a valid parking permit. Drop-off will also be available near the entrance.
Please note: There are a couple of steep slopes on the trail, which is about 1/3 mile long. It's really up to the customer and their comfort level with various grade levels. However, the trail is compacted with crushed limestone which allows for easier mobility and trail docents are available if you have questions. We have guests who utilize wheelchairs each year without issue.
What happens if it rains or in the event of severe weather?
The show goes on, rain or shine. In the event that the show is delayed or postponed due to inclement weather, the tickets you’re issued for that particular night will be honored on another day.
What happens if I come hungry?
There will be plenty to eat. Bring a friend and have them keep your place in line, or trade off. Full concessions will be available each night of the show.
I’m looking to avoid the crowds. When is the best time to come?
We have timed ticketing every day of the show, to minimize lines and overcrowding. You will have a shorter wait the later time slots. Please understand your ticket time is when the line for that time slot will enter the amphitheater. The wait from the beginning of the time slot to the end of the time slot is approximately an hour. If you are the last person in the 7:15 line, you will enter the amphitheater no later than 8:15. It is approximately a 45 minute wait from the entrance to the amphitheater to the entrance to the trail.
Who carves the pumpkins?
Passion for Pumpkins from Oxford, MA designs the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, and carves the over 5,000 illuminated pumpkins you see on the Wetlands Trail. Founded by John Reckner, Passion for Pumpkins is a professional multi-media company run by the Reckner family and close friends. Passion for Pumpkins produces shows around the country.
Where can I park?
Parking is limited in the Amphitheater Parking Lot and in the surrounding park area.
I’m from out of town. Are there any hotels nearby?
Our Hotel Sponsor is Hampton by Hilton Louisville Northeast, where you will receive a special rate. There are also plenty of hotels in nearby downtown Louisville, which is less than 15 minutes away. For more information, visit www.gotolouisville.com
Is camping or RV camping permitted?
No. Our public parks are not designed for overnight camping. There are nearby camp sites located in the area.
What COVID protocols will you have in place?
The Parks Alliance of Louisville is committed to creating both an enjoyable and safe environment for our staff, volunteers, and guests during Jack O’Lantern Spectacular. We will closely monitor the spread of COVID-19 and have protocols in place throughout the show.
How much do tickets cost?
What is timed ticketing?
We now have timed ticketing every night of the show. Guests can choose from various time slots to view the show within their hour timeframe except for 9:30p Sunday through Thursday and 10:30p Friday and Saturday which are 30 minute timeframes. It is recommended you purchase your tickets in advance as time slots will sell out.
If I come with a timed ticketing, will I still wait in line?
Can you sell out of tickets?
Yes, only a limited number of tickets are sold during designated time periods each day to prevent overcrowding.
Will I avoid service fees if I purchase at the box office?
Yes. Fees are only applied to online ticket sales. You will not pay additional online service fees at the box office. However, a nominal credit card processing fee is collected. There are no fees when paying with cash at the box office.

Do you offer group rates?
Yes, indeed! For groups of 25 or more, we offer tickets for $12 for Sunday-Thursday
Can I switch my ticket for a different day?
Yes, there is no issue with you attending a different day. When you arrive at the Iroquois Amphitheater, you will need to visit the Iroquois Amphitheater Box Office to have your tickets exchanged.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not offer refunds. If we are forced to cancel the event due to severe weather conditions, we will offer refunds. Please note: If we close early or are delayed, tickets can be exchanged to be used on a different night and will not be refunded.
Can I switch my ticket entry time?
Do you offer military discounts?
No, we do not offer a military discount.
How many pumpkins are there?
Approximately 5,000 at any one time.
Are the pumpkins real?
Most are. The pumpkins in trees are not real.
How long do the pumpkins last?
We replace the pumpkins every 3 – 7 days depending on the weather conditions. The pumpkin carvers keep carving and enhancing the displays throughout the life of the show.
Are pets allowed on the trail?
Only service animals are allowed on the trail.
Can I take pictures?
Yes, but please no flash photography. It ruins your picture, and the experience of other guests.
