Will my younger child enjoy it?

We haven't received any reports from younger children or toddlers that the Jack O'Lantern Spectacular is scary. However, as the trail is illuminated mostly by the pumpkins, be sure to hold the hand of any young ones who you feel might be spooked.

Will I avoid service fees if I purchase at the box office?

Yes. Fees are only applied to online ticket sales. You will not pay additional online service fees at the box office. However, a nominal credit card processing fee is collected. There are no fees when paying with cash at the box office.

When is the Amphitheater Box Office open?

Box Office: 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday

When does the trail close for the night?

Sunday - Thursday: No one will be allowed to enter the line past 11:00PM Friday and Saturday: No one longer be allowed to enter the line past midnight Anyone in line at closing will be allowed through the event.

What accommodations are made for those with disabilities?

Those with disabilities will find parking near the Amphitheater Box Office, with a valid parking permit. Drop-off will also be available near the entrance.

Please note: There are a couple of steep slopes on the trail, which is about 1/3 mile long. It's really up to the customer and their comfort level with various grade levels. However, the trail is compacted with crushed limestone which allows for easier mobility and trail docents are available if you have questions. We have guests who utilize wheelchairs each year without issue.

What happens if it rains or in the event of severe weather?

The show goes on, rain or shine. In the event that the show is delayed or postponed due to inclement weather, the tickets you’re issued for that particular night will be honored on another day.

What happens if I come hungry?

There will be plenty to eat. Bring a friend and have them keep your place in line, or trade off. Full concessions will be available each night of the show. Cash and credit cards are accepted

I’m looking to avoid the crowds. When is the best time to come?

We have timed ticketing every day of the show, to minimize lines and overcrowding. You will have a shorter wait the later time slots. Please understand your ticket time is when the line for that time slot will enter the amphitheater. The wait from the beginning of the time slot to the end of the time slot is approximately an hour. If you are the last person in the 7:15 line, you will enter the amphitheater no later than 8:15. It is approximately a 45 minute wait from the entrance to the amphitheater to the entrance to the trail.

Anything else I need to know?

Yes, the show is brought to you by Passion for Pumpkins, an organization that got its start in Oxford, Massachusetts in 1988. P4P currently operates two other shows, located in Providence, Rhode Island and Minneapolis, MN.

Where can I park?

Parking is limited in the Amphitheater Parking Lot and in the surrounding park area. Additional parking is available at nearby DeSales High School on Kenwood Drive, which is a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) to the Iroquois Amphitheater.

I’m from out of town. Are there any hotels nearby?

Our Hotel Sponsor is Hampton by Hilton Louisville Northeast, where you will receive a special rate. There are also plenty of hotels in nearby downtown Louisville, which is less than 15 minutes away. For more information, visit

Is camping or RV camping permitted?

No. Our public parks are not designed for overnight camping. There are nearby camp sites located in the area.

Ticketing Questions

How much do tickets cost?

Can I order tickets online?

Yes, here You can download the tickets to your phone, once purchased, or print them off at home and bring them with you to the show.

What is timed ticketing?

We now have timed ticketing every night of the show. Guests can choose from various time slots to view the show. It is recommended you purchase your tickets in advance as time slots will sell out.

If I come with a timed ticketing, will I still wait in line?

Yes. Limited tickets are sold for these times to avoid overcrowding, but the time on your ticket is the time your line will begin entering the amphitheater. The wait from the amphitheater entrance to the head of the trail is approximately 45 minutes. If you are at the end of your timed ticket line, you can add an hour to that wait time. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your ticket time, or no later than 30 minutes after your ticket time.

Can you sell out of tickets?

Yes, only a limited number of tickets are sold during designated time periods each day to prevent overcrowding.

What if I want to purchase tickets for my church, business, or civic organization? Do you offer group rates?

Yes, indeed! For groups of 20 or more, we offer tickets for $12 for Sunday-Thursday Contact for more info.

Trail Questions

How many pumpkins are there?

Approximately 5,000 at any one time.

Are the pumpkins real?

Most are. The pumpkins in trees are not real.

How long do the pumpkins last?

We replace the pumpkins every 3 – 7 days depending on the weather conditions.

Are pets allowed on the trail?

Only service animals are allowed on the trail.

Can I take pictures?

Yes, but please no flash photography. It ruins your picture, and the experience of other guests.
